New housing plan to implement revised requirements

An ordinance specifying requirements for new Planned Residential Developments, adopted by the Township last year, is in the process of being revised.  Several of its requirements are being modified to retain the development’s quality while better reflecting the long-term costs associated with maintaining those requirements.  Traditions of America, a 55+ planned residential community of 103 homes on a 55-acre site along Rochester Road at the Township’s western edge, was offered the opportunity to change its plans to relieve it from those requirements, even though the final ordinance revision is not scheduled to be adopted until next month.  The developer accepted the Township’s invitation and, at its June 28 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors approved the developer’s requested plan changes.
